Bengaluru Division Celebrates 74TH Republic Day

B engaluru Division of South Western Railway celebrated 74th Republic Day today at Railway Institute Grounds, Mahatma Gandhi Railway Colony, Bengaluru.

Shyam Singh,Divisional Railway Manager,Bengaluru Division was the Chief Guest and unfurled the tri-colour.

He inspected the parade by Railway Protection Force (RPF),Bharath Scouts and Guides and,took Guard of Honour.

Shyam Singh,read the message of General Manager, South Western Railway,which portrayed the major activities,milestones and achievements of the Zone in the current financial year.

Highlighting the achievements of Bengaluru Division, Shyam Singh said that the Division has achieved an impressive record of 96% punctuality in operation of passenger trains.

He informed that the Stepping Stone schools run by South Western Railway Women’s Organization (SWRWWO) in Mahatma Gandhi Colony in Bengaluru, Yesvantpur,Krishnarajapuram and Hindupur have seen a radical change in the past 6 months in terms of infrastructure,sports facilities,furniture and teaching aids due to the yeomen service of the organization.

Children from Railway Kendriya Vidyalaya,Shama Vidya Shala and Stepping Stone Railway Nursery School presented various cultural programmes to mark the event. A Dog Show was presented by RPF.

Various welfare activities were launched on this occasion.Shyam Singh flagged off a Motor Bike Rally which was conducted by The South Western Railway State Bharat Scouts & Guides, Bengaluru District,to create awareness on hazards of Single Use Plastic.

Smt.Shilpi Singh,Divisional President,SWRWWO, Bengaluru Division,inaugurated Ultra-Sonography unit with colour Doppler and 2D Echo facility installed in Bengaluru Divisional Railway Hospital.

She also inaugurated two Executive Rooms in Railway Hospital. SWRWWO distributed fruits and gifts to patients in the Railway Hospital in presence of Shyam Singh,Divisional Railway Manger,Dr.Shobha Jagannath, Chief Medical Superintendent,Smt.Kusuma Hariprasad, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and other Officers.
