Dr Vishnuvardhan was ‘Hrudayavantha’,liked by the whole of Karnataka- CM Bommai

C hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai described noted Kannada actor late Dr Vishnuvardhan as ‘Hrudayavantha’who was liked by the Kannadigas, and  had won the hearts of people through his superb acting.

Speaking after inaugurating Dr Vishnuvardhan Memorial at Haalalu village on H.D.Kote road organised jointly by Department of Information and Public Relations and Dr Vishnuvardhan Foundation here on Sunday, he said through the character ‘Ramachari’ in Kannada movie,Naagara Haavu’,Dr Vishnuvardhan became a household name and subsequently acted in hundreds of movies.

In his life,Padma Shree Bharati stood as a strength, and after death she wanted him to build a memorial in Mysuru.Thanks to her efforts, it became a reality.

This memorial has all the facilities and the citizens and the film field connected people must make use of the same.

” The achievements of Dr Vishnuvardhan are before my eyes. I have come here as a fan of the veteran actor. The debut movie,Naagara Haavu’ was released in 70s and those who had seen that movie would have been the fan of this actor.

Dr Vishnuvardhan still lives in the minds of the people. The actor was very emotional and humane.The humanity was seen in his role.

The former CM, B.S.Yediyurappa had released Rs.11 crore for this project for which I will compliment him”, Bommai said.

The CM said there has been demand to confer Karnataka Ratna posthumously on Dr Vishnuvardhan, and it will be positively considered in the coming days.

MLA G.T.Deve Gowda,Dr Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Anirudh also spoke.

Department of Information and Public Relations Commissioner,Dr P.Harsha in his introduction explained the facilities at  Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial. Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha,MLAs S.A.Ramdas and L.Nagendra and others were present.
