Tripura is set to witness saffron campaign blitz on Friday. BJP National president JP Nadda, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and several other national leaders along with State leaders will participate in the poll campaign tomorrow. There will be total election rallies in support of BJP candidates across the State on Friday. Out of these, Nadda will address two rallies. Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda will start the mega election campaign by holding a Vijay Sankalp rally in Tripura’s Amarpur under Gomati district.
Later, he will also address an election rally at Kumarghat under Unakoti district tomorrow. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reviewed the preparations for tomorrow’s rallies at Amarpur and Kumarghat today. Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb also reviewed preparations in both places yesterday.
According to sources, after the Vijay Sankalp rally, BJP’s Union ministers, senior leaders and chief ministers of other states, including Tripura, will make efforts to create an atmosphere in favour of the saffron party and boost it’s prospect in February 16 Assembly Polls by holding 35 small and big rallies in the state.
Sources said that the BJP may release its election manifesto for the assembly elections. Elections for all 60 seats of the Tripura assembly will conducted on February 16 and the results will be announced on March 2 next. The BJP formed the government for the first time in the state by winning nearly 44 per cent votes in the last assembly elections in 2018. The party is facing multi corner contests in all the 60 seats sans three. Despite a seat sharing understanding between the Congress and CPIM, anti BJP votes are to be divided among TIPRA Motha which is contesting in 42 seats and Trinamool Congress which put up candidates in 22 seats.
