MBA student critically injured by speeding car while crossing the road in Kengeri

A 21-year-old MBA student critically wounded when a speeding car knocked her down while she was crossing the road to go the college on near BMIS college on Kengeri road on Thursday.

The severely injured Swathi,with multiple fractures admitted to a private hospital where she is recovering.

According to the police,Swathi was crossing the road to get into BIMS college campus at around 1.30 pm when the car knocked her down.

Due to the impact Swathi,was thrown up in the air and crashed on the road sustaining severe injuries .

The car belonging to an MBBS Student sped away but later track down and booked under rash and negligent driving.

Swathi is native of Hubballi living in a Paying guest accommodation in Pattanagere.She was crossing the road at around 1.30 pm when the accident occurred .

Students in the college vent their ire on the authorities concerned demanding road safety measures in place. The students the road had high traffic volume in addition to missing of speed breakers which were removed due to the recent VVIP movement.

There was no pedestrian safety nor have any sky-walk in place endangering the lives of the pedestrians,the students alleged.

Refuting the allegation traffic police said that the high-rise pedestrian crossing in place and the sky walk which is almost ready will be operational in next few days.

Once the sky walk is operational the pedestrian crossing on the road will be completely closed for safety purpose,a senior police officer,said .
