The Kengeri police on Monday arrested two habitual offenders and recovered five gold chains worth six lakh from them.
The accused Kabbalu Chandru,27 and his associate Raghu Ravi,37 were arrested based on a chain snatching incident reported in Bandemutha layout on February 7.
The duo confronted Dr.Adilakshmi,71 while she was getting flowers for Puja and snatched her 40 grams of gold chain worth Rs.2 lakh .
The victim tried to resist and in the melee sustained injuries .
Based on the complaint, the police track down the accused to Mysuru and arrested.Initial probe revealed that the accused involved in chain snatching cases in Mysuru,Chamaraja Nagar,Mandya and Bengaluru .
The police recovered five gold chains worth Rs.6 lakh and further investigating .
