The Ashoknagar police on Wednesday arrested an autorickshaw driver for stabbing a 34-year-old school teacher to death for rejecting his marriage proposal .
The accused Nadeem Pasha,native of Mandya was friend with the deceased Kausar Mubeen,and used to visit her frequently .
The deceased was living with her daughter at a rented house in Nanjappa circle after getting divorced from her husband 1.5 years ago .
The accused used to pester her to marry him but she would reject.
On Monday Nadeem Pasha visited her for wishing her on her birthday and proposed again.Kausar has returned from work and was alone at home while her daughter had gone to school.
She rejected stating she is not interested and even her family will not approve.Enraged by this Nadeem Pasha stabbed her repeatedly and escaped .
She raised alarm prompting the neighbours to rushed to her help,but by then the accused escaped .
Based on the complaint the police,identified the accused with the help of technical inputs and arrested him from Mandya.
The accused has been taken into custody for further investigation said a senior officer.
