BVR Subrahmanyam as CEO of NITI Aayog

Telugu officer BVR Subrahmanyam has been appointed as the CEO of NITI Aayog. A 1987 Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer, BVR retired as Secretary, Central Department of Commerce.

A key position for the Telugu officer

 

Today, Delhi: Telugu officer BVR Subrahmanyam has been appointed as the CEO of NITI Aayog. A 1987 Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer, BVR retired as Secretary, Central Department of Commerce. Parameswaran Iyer, currently the CEO of NITI Aayog, has been appointed as the Executive Director at the World Bank headquarters in America. The central government appointed BVR Subrahmanyam in place of Iyer. He will hold the post for two years or until further orders.

Services in various capacities:The full name of BVR Subrahmanyam, who has been appointed as the CEO of NITI Aayog, is Bhamidipati Venkata Ramasubrahmanyam. His mother is Kakinada. Father is from Gunupuram in Odisha. As his father was a central government employee, he was educated in Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi. B.Tech in Mechanical from Delhi College of Engineering. Later he was selected for IAS. He holds an MBA from London Business School. Lal Bahadur Shastri did his Masters in International Law and Economics at the World Trade Institute, Switzerland while serving as the Deputy Director of the IAS Academy. He worked in the Prime Minister’s Office between 2004-08 and 2012-15 under Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi. He also served in the World Bank. Moved to Chhattisgarh Cadre in 2015. He was appointed as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in June 2018. During the division of the state in 2019, he played a key role as the Chief Secretary. When he served as Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department in Chhattisgarh, he played a key role in reducing the prevalence of terrorism there. While working as Secretary of the Union Commerce Department, he held additional responsibilities as CMD of India Trade Promotion Organization. Supervised the reconstruction of Pragathi Maidan in Delhi undertaken by the Central Government for the G-20 meetings. His wife Umadevi Bhamidipati worked as a Chhattisgarh cadre Indian Forest Service officer and recently retired as Additional Secretary in Union Home Ministry. While working as Secretary of the Union Commerce Department, he held additional responsibilities as CMD of India Trade Promotion Organization. Supervised the reconstruction of Pragathi Maidan in Delhi undertaken by the Central Government for the G-20 meetings. His wife Umadevi Bhamidipati worked as a Chhattisgarh cadre Indian Forest Service officer and recently retired as Additional Secretary in Union Home Ministry. While working as Secretary of the Union Commerce Department, he held additional responsibilities as CMD of India Trade Promotion Organization. Supervised the reconstruction of Pragathi Maidan in Delhi undertaken by the Central Government for the G-20 meetings. His wife Umadevi Bhamidipati worked as a Chhattisgarh cadre Indian Forest Service officer and recently retired as Additional Secretary in Union Home Ministry.
