We are continuing the reign of 19 years

The organization of the Bio Asia conference, which started 19 years ago in the united Andhra Pradesh, continues even after the formation of the state. So far, we have invited the chairmen, CEOs, scientists and Nobel laureates of famous companies to the conference and made them participate in the discussions. About 100 organizations participated. We have organized more than 20 thousand partnership meetings. So far we have been able to attract investments of Rs.25 thousand crores. We have signed more than 250 bilateral agreements.

We have prepared more than 30 policy documents related to quality products and recommended them to the central governments in power at the time as a conference venue.

Focus on quality products

Importing certain types of products is better than manufacturing them. For example, masks and gloves are cheap if they are imported from China. That is why we have focused on improving the opportunities for the production of quality goods at reasonable prices in the state.

The number of representatives is increasing

Bio Asia is playing a key role in increasing investment in India. The number of delegates attending the BioAsia Conference is steadily increasing every year. In 2021, 2,500 people from 95 countries participated during the outbreak of Covid. Switzerland, Norway, Thailand, Korea, Argentina, Spain, UK, Germany, South Africa and other countries participated and sent their representatives. The state has established relations with the pharma and life sciences sectors in the respective countries. For example, recently a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the ‘Flanders Investment, Trade (FIT)’ region in Belgium. The Genome Valley Excellence Award is presented annually to those who have made outstanding contributions in biology. This year we are presenting it to Acharya Robert Langer. He especially worked on mRNA technology.

Life Sciences University soon

We have entered into an MoU with King’s College London to establish a Life Sciences University in Pharma City. We have discussed with Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to set up the medical college to be established in Rangareddy district and the associated hospital in Pharma City. Nursing and paramedical colleges will also come up. The opportunities for experiments are increasing,” said KTR.

Most of the FDA approved pharma companies are here

The state has the highest (214) pharma companies certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) . After Telangana, the highest number of FDA certified companies (189) is in New Jersey in America. The Medical Devices Park in Sultanpur houses the world’s largest manufacturer of stents. Glasses used in Telangana are made there.

A selection of five seeds

As part of the Bio Asia conference, many seeds will be competing in the biotech and life sciences section. will display their products. Out of a total of 400 participants, 75 organizations were initially selected. From this we will select five for the final list. They will be given a cash award and an opportunity to speak for five minutes each at the conference.

Soon mRNA vaccine center

Soon we are going to set up a center in life sciences in the state in association with the World Economic Forum. Under the auspices of the World Health Organization, mRNA (Messenger Ribonucleic Acid) vaccination center will be set up in Hyderabad. This is a proof of how important Telangana is playing in the field of pharma and life sciences. After the formation of the state, we have showcased the strengths of bio and life sciences systems on international platforms. As a result, a leading pharma device manufacturing company like Medtron has set up its second largest premises in Telangana for research, production and innovation.
