The message of Nelson Mandela is our inspiration. By establishing a biological hub in Telangana, we are giving a big boost to bio-pharma research and products. We are also inviting investments in the fields of cell and gene therapy. We have already provided facilities in 30 lakh square feet in Genome Valley. Life sciences in Hyderabad will be key in setting up global capability centers in the next five years. Combining technology and biopharmaceutical manufacturing skills can make the impossible possible. Our mission is to make Telangana the science capital of the world’s biopharmaceutical industry,” stated IT and Industries Minister KTR. Minister KTR inaugurated the three-day Bio Asia 20th Conference at HICC on Friday.
We will surpass the target by 2025
KTR said.. ‘Hyderabad is the only city with the biggest pharmacy in the world, besides the largest biopharmaceutical system like Genome Valley.. the expanding Medtech Park. By 2030, we have set the first target to increase the value of our life sciences to 10 billion dollars. But now I am happy and proud to announce that the net worth will reach 8 billion dollars in 2022. There is a 23 percent increase in the last two years. The national average in this regard is 14 percent. We are confident that we can reach our target of 10 thousand crores by 2025, five years ahead of the specified deadline. That’s why we have set our latest target as 25 billion dollars by 2030.
Here are 200 FDA approved companies
We are taking the lead in creative and research with companies such as Arazen, Sai, Syngene, Deloitte, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and others. KTR explained that there are more than 200 pharma companies in the state that have received permission from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of America.

Apart from home, it has played a vital role in supplying 258 billion doses to 101 countries of the world. Novartis CEO Dr. Vas Narasimhan delivered the keynote address. Flanders representative Jayant Nadigar said that Flanders is playing a key role in Belgium’s bio-pharmaceutical sector and Bio Asia is also playing a major role in Telangana. British Deputy High Commissioner of AP and Telangana Gareth Wynne Owen said that he is happy to participate in Bio Asia 2023. Let’s fight global health challenges together. Samit Hirawat, Executive Vice President of Bristol Myers Squibb (America) said.. He said that he is happy to be a partner with Telangana. State Life Sciences Director Shakti Nagappan, BioAsia Advisory Council Member Dr. Ajith Shetty, Reddy’s Laboratories Chairman Satish Reddy, State IT and Industries Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and others spoke.

Minister KTR said that this decade belongs to India in the field of life sciences and Telangana will lead this revolution. He was speaking at a panel discussion organized on Friday with CEOs of pharma companies as part of the Bio Asia conference. KTR explained that research, drug control system and mass production are the main challenges for the life sciences industry and if these are overcome, there will be no limits to progress. He said that the expected results will be there only when the production is undertaken on a large scale. Keeping this in mind, Pharma City is being prepared for the pharmaceutical industry, he said.
Work like Israel
* Satish Reddy, chairman of Reddy’s Laboratories, the lifeblood of Telangana to the world, suggested that like Israel, industry and government should work together in drug research. He said that there should be a funding system for basic research and to take it to the next level.
* Hari Bhartia, Co-Chairman of Jubilant Bhartia Group, responded that the way to overcome the lack of capital for research is to establish partnerships, or basically complete research and sell it to big companies to get funds.
* Glenmark Pharmaceuticals CMD Glenn Saldana said that they have been conducting research activities for more than two decades and have sold 7 research projects and earned 300 million dollars.
* Piramil Pharma Chairperson Nandini Piramil said that we have the skills and human resources to conduct research on a large scale.
* Biological E. Limited MD Mahima Datla said that there is a lack of funds to provide new medicines at a low cost to the domestic needs, and as the domestic pharma companies are not interested in this, the government’s role is becoming active.
40 percent of the pharmaceutical products are from the state

Telangana’s biopharmaceutical sector has already served 10 pharmaceutical companies and over a thousand life sciences companies worldwide . 40 percent of the pharmaceutical products in the country come from Telangana alone.
