The Northeast division cyber crime police have arrested a 48-year-old autorickshaw driver for cheating senior citizen who were visiting
ATMs to withdraw money.
Senior officer told reporters the accused Shivakumar on the pretext of helping them to withdraw,get to know the PIN number and would divert their attention while giving cash and swap with duplicate card and hand over to them.
Using the original card and PIN number the accused would withdraw the entire amount from the bank and used it for the vices as he was addicted to gambling and alcohol.
Based on a complaints,a team of police officials verified the CCTV footage and kept a watch on the ATMs and arrested the accused red handed when he was trying to target senior citizen near ATM he added.
