six-year-old girl was drowned in sump pit of an six storeyed under construction residential building in Sultanpet under City market police station limits on Friday .
The deceased has been identified as Maheshwari,elder daughter of Mallappa.
Senior officer with other officers and staff rushed to spot and after inspecting the area said Mallappa had come along with his wife and another daughter to see site supervisor Umesh seeking work .
While they were busy in discussion,Maheshwari slipped while playing and stepped into the sump pit area which is filled with water.
The sump pit was around 10 feet deep and filled with water.There was no gate to stop nor there was light .
Few minutes later Mallappa realize Maheshwari missing and later found her in the sump .
The city market police rushed to the spot and conducted the investigations.The police booked a case of death due to negligence against the site engineer and owner for further investigation.
