Drinking water for 40 lakh houses under Jal Jeevan Mission in Karnataka: CM Bommai

I n the last three years,drinking water has been provided to 40 lakh houses in the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took this scheme as a challenge and achieved what was considered impossible,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking at a function organized in connection with the dedication of various development works worth Rs. 2240 crore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Monday,he said under the Krishi Sanman scheme, money is directly transferred to the bank account of farmers to buy the seeds and fertilizer.

Modi formulated this scheme to help farmers. In Karnataka, the government has launched Raitha Vidyanidhi,Yashaswini,and Bhusiri for the welfare of farmers.Both the state and the union government are working jointly to instill confidence in farmers.

The additional crop input subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme has been released,and also increased Minimum Support price for crops.

The said construction of new railway stations and allotment of a 6,000 km national highway in the last five years have been the contributions of the Modi Government.

The railway projects such as Dharwad-Belagavi and Hubballi-Ankola will start soon.

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme,drinking water connection had been given to 10 crore houses in the last three years,and called as ‘Bhagirath of Bharath’. The state government has decided to contribute one trillion dollars to help India achieve five trillion US dollars.
