The Lokayukta sleuths team headed by Lokayukta SP KV Ashok and team on Wednesday acting on tip off trapped assistant engineer of Bescom, red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 for an official favour.
The accused officer vidya, working in kasturi nagar sub division demanded 25,000 from an electrical contractor who had requested to shift electric pole near his residence.
Vidya had taken Rs.5000 as advance and remaining amount she received after the work order issued.
Unable to pay the amount Mr.Aravind complained to Lokayukta and a trap was laid when he was paying the remaining amount.
The accused is booked under PC act and remanded to judicial custody..
