A man suffering from chronic ailment and alcoholism, killed his wife and two minor daughters by administering poison laced in food and later attempted to end life at his house in Vaddarapalya in Konanakunte on Thursday.
Senior officer with FSL team rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area and after inspecting the spot and collecting information he said,The deceased have been identified as Vijaya,2,Deeksha,7 and Nisha, 5.
The accused Nagendra,was found by his relative found hanging,and was rescued and admitted to the hospital where he is recovering.
During preliminary investigation we found Nagendra,an autorickshaw driver was diagnosed with cancer and kidney related ailment and underwent surgery.
Since then he was not working but started consuming alcohol and used to fight with his wife Vijaya frequently .
Vijaya used to work as an assistant at medical store to eke out a living and taking care of Nagendra for the last two years.However Nagendra used to get drunk and harass her frequently.
On Wednesday night after a fight the accused allegedly mixed rat poison in food and fed Vijaya and daughters.
The police team also found injuries marks which indicate that the accused had assaulted them before poisoning them with rat poison laced in food,officer, said .
The incident came to light when Shashi Kumar
,brother of Vijaya visited the house and found the door was locked from inside .
After repeated knock when no one responded he along with the neighbours who gathered at the spot by then, broke open the door and found the trio lying dead while Nagendra was hanging to the ceiling .
They rescued him and taken to the hospital long with three others where the doctors declared Vijay and two children are brought dead.
The Konanakunte police have registered a case of murder and attempt to suicide against Nagendra and awaiting for his recovery to question him.
