New Delhi 3 March। World Book Fair going on at Pragati Maidan, Delhi, stall No 26/27 of the hall No 2 of Pragati Maidan has become the center of attraction among visitors, especially for kids. In which the stall named “StartAR Smart Learning is showcasing an Immersive learning experience in 3D smartbooks using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. On this occasion, the co-founders, Mr Rahul Bhardwaj and Anup Kumar said that it is a platform that blends physical books with technology to provide meaningful screen time. It’s a platform which connects physical books with technology to provide meaningful screen time. We use 3D models, animations, sounds and effects on the top of physical books. So that the learners can understand the concepts easily, it helps teachers and parents to provide an effective learning environment. Parents are experiencing a considerable increment in kids’ screen time after COVID 19, which doesn’t add value to their learning. Currently, working parents have no alternative but to plot their kids in front of a TV screen or let them watch Youtube videos. StartAR is utilizing the smartphone infrastructure available in cities as well as urban areas. They believe that smart learning should be accessible to all, that’s why they are providing an alternative to expensive hardware being used at schools. StartAR Team provides physical books and a mobile app that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (Search with name of “startar”). These books can be implemented at schools as smart learning kits and parents can also use the books at home to spend time with their kids and make them learn in a fun way. They have also explained that other apps use games and videos for learning, but StartAR uses interactive 3D objects which resemble real-world objects. Similar to kids remembering the sound and visuals of an Elephant when they see an elephant for real. Video-based learning solutions lack interaction, and they have seamless content, which results in endless scrolling and leads to screen addiction. At the same time, StartAR uses physical books with limited and meaningful content and, most notably, are related to the school curriculum, reducing the possibility of screen addiction. They also added, when you ask kids to stop using a smartphone or any other activity, they will tend to do it more often. This phenomenon is called Psychological Reactance, and it makes them hostile, aggressive and angry when you ask them not to use the smartphone. Rather than asking them to turn down the phone, we divert the usage to a good purpose. It’s a win-win situation for kids, parents and teachers as no one gets addicted to the books. Whenever they ask to use the phone to play games or watch cartoons, please give them healthy screen time, which adds to the knowledge they gained at school.Happy Learning & Welcome to the future of education.
