Dr.Thomas (Special Correspondent)
C hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the agenda of the Congress Party was to continue the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB),and the stand of that party is to neglect Lokayukta and hush up their corruption through the ACB.
He told reporters at Mysuru Airport here on Tuesday that during the previous Congress regime, they removed the Prevention of Corruption Act,and made Lokayukta totally inactive.
It was not right on their part to say they did not close it as they had made the anti-corruption institution dummy. If so,why all the cases were referred to the ACB during their regime?
Infused strength into it
Asked about the Congress leader’s statement that the Lokayukta was saved by the high court and not the BJP Government, the CM said after the court’s verdict, the Lokayukta was made active.
The incumbent government has shown its morality by infusing strength into it as per the court’s order.
National Highway project
On Congress leaders taking credit for the Bengaluru-Mysuru Express Highway project, the CM said the national highways are not built by the state government and a proposal for an eight-lane highway project existed even before the Siddaramaiah Government.
But the people will observe during that tenure the funds were released and progress work.It is not correct to politics in every issue.
Inquiry if truth in claims
Asked about the release of documents regarding the money spent by the Siddaramaiah government on food and beverages and the chances of inquiry into it, Bommai said the government will look into the genuine of the documents and then take action accordingly.
Bundh not be successful
On the bundh call given by the Congress Party,he said the Congress Party is doing a drama through bundh and it will not be effective.
Morality is very important while fighting but the Congress Party is a den of corruption and the people will not respond to it.Congress will lose because of corruption.
