Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Observes International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day 2023 was celebrated at Central Office,KSRTC today in a simple ceremony under the Chairmanship of V.Anbu kumar,IAS,Managing Director.

Mrs.Shobha Gasti,recipient of Nari Shakti Award of Government of India,was felicitated for her achievement during the program.She was honoured with a memento and a cheque of Rs.20,000 on as Honorarium.

During the celebration,Managing Director addressed the gathering and said,Mrs.Shobha Gasti has dedicated herself for the social concern,abolition of Devadasi system and has worked hard for women’s empowerment.

She is fighting against the cruel system of Devadasi in the society and it’s an honor that she is amidst our gathering and it self for our women staff to get motivated.

He said that education is wealth and power for the women.Further stated,that in all 2821 women employees are working in the Corporation on par with Male employees in various positions.

He told women employees are respected,encouraged in everyway and various programees have been implemented for their welfare.

Mrs.Shobha Gasti after accepting the felicitation,said ‘education is necessary for every girl child, governments have started many programs and are helping many like us to get out of Devadasi system and society should also respect them.

Since 1994,I have been fighting against this system and giving guidance, courage and support to our girls to live like everyone else in the society.

Being invited and honoured In this function is an encouragement to many like us.She also said that the women staff working in transport Corporation are commendable.

Further during the event,a total of 42 women employees,Conductors,Technical Staff and Security Staff from 17 divisions of KSRTC were felicitated for their dedication.
