Muslim man beaten to death in Bihar over suspicion of carrying Beef

Abhijit Ray,Kolkata:A Muslim man was allegedly beaten to death by a local sarpanch for allegedly carrying beef. Three persons, including the local sarpanch, have already been arrested in connection with the incident in Bihar. However, it is not yet known whether the man was carrying beef at all. The local police have launched an investigation.What exactly happened? On Wednesday, a man named Nasim Qureshi came out on the road with his nephew. They were supposed to go to a relative’s house. But in the middle of the road, some local people stopped them and started questioning them. From there, the two sides got involved in a dispute. As soon as the situation worsened, Nasim’s nephew somehow escaped. But 56-year-old Nasim was brutally beaten with sticks. Nasim was rescued in critical condition and admitted to the hospital. He died in the hospital on Friday morning.Three accused, including sarpanch Sushil Singh, have been arrested in connection with the incident in Bihar’s Saran area, police said. According to the police, “Some locals got involved in a dispute with two people in the area adjacent to the mosque. They suspect that the two men were carrying beef. Nasim was then beaten up. Nasim was handed over to the police at the initiative of the locals. For now, three people, including the sarpanch, have been charged with mob lynching. It is being investigated whether Nasim had beef at all.It is not yet known whether the man was carrying beef at all.
