Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway celebrated International Women’s Day in ‘Anugraha’ Railway Community Hall, Mahatma Gandhi Railway Colony.
Renowned Actress,Ms.Meghana Raj,was the Chief Guest,Film Director,Pannagabharana and Cine Producer Chetan Nanjundaiah were the Distinguished Guests.
Smt.Shilpi Singh,Bengaluru Divisional President,South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (SWRWWO) was the Guest of Honour,Shyam Singh, Divisional Railway Manager was the Special Guest at the event.
SWRWWO gave away awards to19 women of different departments for their outstanding performance of duties.
The award Comprised of Silver coins with citations.
Ms.Meghana Raj,who spoke on the occasion lauded the efforts of Bengaluru Division for its women empowerment activities.
Smt.Shilpi Singh gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions which were conducted for women employees of the Division as a part of Women’s day celebrations.
Ms.Meghana Sajjanar,and Ms.Preenu Yadav Who are Staff of Bengaluru Division were felicitated for their achievement in the field of sports on this occasion.
Ms.Meghana Sajjanar has bagged Bronze Medal in ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) World Championship held in Egypt in October,2022,for Rifle Shooting.
Ms.Preenu Yadav is winner of individual Bronze and Team Gold Medal in SAAF (South Asian Athletic Federation) Championship held in Nagaland in 2020.
Bharatnatyam and other cultural programmes marked the event.
Smt.Kusuma Hariprasad,Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Admin) welcomed the gathering and Ms. Uma Sharma,Senior Divisional Personnel Officer proposed vote of thanks.
