he south Division police busted a big Nepali gang racket and cracked two house break thefts committed by the domestic helps and their associates in separate incidents and recovered valuables including cash, jewels and even a licensed pistol and live ammunition total worth Rs.2.7 crore from them.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy held a press conference at his office and said that all the accused hailed from Nepal and joined as domestic help in and around South and Southeast division area for few months to gain the confidence of the house owners .
They later committed the theft after getting the details of family going out .
lauding the efforts of his team to crack the cases using scientific methods,Reddy,said that it is pertinent to note that in all the above cases the owner of the house failed to obtain the IDs or details of the domestic helps while hiring them.
This will help the police investigations in case of any eventualities and the people expect better response,he said .
He advised the people to get the background verification and collect at least two IDs from them along with the contact details of the referred person, Mr. Reddy, said .
The JP Nagar police arrested Prem and Lakshmi Sejuval couple from Nepal who worked as domestic help at the house of a businessman in JP Nagar 2nd stage and roped in their associates to burgle the house .
The accused couple even administered sedative to Kiran,son of the couple who was at home at the time of incident while the couple had gone to Thirupati.
The accused roped in their associates Nethra Sahi, Gorakh Bahadur,Bheem Bahadur,Anjali,Abesh Sahi, Prashanth and Prakash to burgle the house and escaped on Feb. 28 this year.
The incident came to light when Kiran woke up in the middle of the night to see the entire house has been plundered and the domestic help couple are missing.
Based on the complaint,the JP Nagar police inspector and his crime team using other inputs gathered the details and chased to couple at Delhi,UP,Haryana before finally pining them down at Nepal border and recovered 1.17 kilos of gold valuables,350 grams of silver articles and Rs.77.6 lakh cash along with a licensed pistol and three rounds of ammunition from them.
In another incident,the JP Nagar police arrested a Domestic help from Nepal who roped in her associates to steal valuables from the house where she was working on December 2.
The accused have been identified as,Vimala,Arjun Sahi, Pooran Sahi,Harish Sahi,and Ramitha Thakur.
The police recovered 320 grams of gold valuables,Rs.6.2 lakh cash and 190 grams of silver articles altogether worth of Rs.25 lakhs.
In another incident the Jayanagar police inspector and his team has arrested five member gang hailing from Nepal.
The accused has been identified as,Bikas,Hemanth,Sushmitha,Roshan Padma Shahi,and Prema.
The team recovered gold,silver,cash,watches,mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs.21.27 lakhs recovered from them.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil, DCP South,P Krishnakant,ACP,KV Srinivas,PI,TS Radhakrishna,PSIs,as,Chandan Kale,Smt.Sowmya MS,Ms.Asha KB,Srikantaiah YS,Prasanna Kumar, Hariprasad,Naveed,and crime staff as,Rajanna,Thimmegowda CM,Praveen H,Vrushbendra R,Hussain Pasha,Ravikumar H,Ravi R,Neelakanta,Ravikumar Parthanahalli,Ramesh KA,Asif Talikote,Praveen,Ullas KC,Wasim Akram,Mahalingappa,Partha Vijay,Kiran,Santhosh,Nagappa,and Sadam has been lauded and appreciated for their tireless efforts and meticulous investigation in nabbing the Notorious Nepali gang racket who escaped with valuables a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
