Three including B Tech student turned HBT offender arrested stolen property worth Rs.70 Lakhs Recovered by Koramangala police

he Koramangala police have arrested a gang of three including a 26-year-old B Tech student studying in Gandhi Institute For Technology,Bhubaneswar for breaking into the house of a city based businessman and made away with the valuables worth Rs.70 lakh.

The businessman,Rakesh Harish Punjabi,who owned a optical shop and residing in Koramangala 3rd stage had gone to Shimla and Chandigarh with his family on Feb 12 and returned 10 days later to find the house was burgled .

Based on the complaint,the police swung into action and gathered technical details including the CCTV footage from in and around and call record details before zeroing in on the accused.

The prime accused being B Tech student hailed from Bhadrak the accused was influenced by two notorious house break theives in his areas “Chintu and Bantu” who are have many legends” and infamouse for his burglaries across the country and not been caught .

The accused who was into lavish life started watching movies to learn the trick of the trade and roped in his two friends who are from Assam and working in a construction company and residing in Electronic city.

As per the plan,the accused would recee the locked house and break into them and steal valuables .

The accused zeroed in on Mr.Punjabi;s house and made away with the valuables.Some valuables the accused left at the house of electronic city and the rest they took back to Odisha to sell .

However the police track down the accused and arrested them before the valuables are melted .

The accused have been taken into custody to ascertain their criminal background,CK Baba,DCP, Southeast said .

It took the one week for the Inspector DN Nataraj and his team to track down the accused .

The case would have been cracked much earlier but the house did not have a CCTV cameras and family had huge amount of gold,diamond jewels and electronic gadgets at home .

The police suggested that people to keep the valuables at bank locker for the safety and inform the jurisdictional police if they going out of town.

However in this case neither the house has CCTV coverage nor they have alerted the police despite storing huge amount of cash and valuables at home .
