AP Assembly: Welfare governance in the state with Navratnas: Governor Justice S. Abdul Nazir

Amaravati: AP Assembly Budget Sessions have started. State Governor… Justice S. Abdul Nazir addressed both the houses during the opening of the meetings. He explained the development and welfare schemes undertaken by the state government. The Governor stated that the state government is working hard to increase the educational standards. He said that welfare regime is coming in the state with Navaratna. He said that through DBT, money is provided directly to the beneficiaries without corruption. The governor mentioned in his speech that there is progress in agriculture, industries and service sectors.

He said that the state government has taken up the modernization of schools. Under this program, 15,717 schools were developed with Rs.3669 crores in the first phase and 22,345 schools were developed with Rs.8,345 crores in the second phase. He said that Rs.9900 crores have been provided at the rate of Rs.15 thousand each to 44 lakh mothers across the state under Amma Odi. The governor explained that governance is being brought to the people with village and ward secretariats.

Protest by TDP members

The TDP members protested while the governor was speaking on the irrigation sector. He alleged that there was no development in water drainage projects in the state. After the Vaikapa government came to power, they raised slogans to say which projects have been completed. There was confusion in the assembly for a while. After that the Governor continued his speech as usual.
