The impetus is given to education-CM Bommai

The Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential Schools were started 20 years ago to put a strong educational foundation for SC/ST, OBC,and Minority Community students by creating a conducive atmosphere akin to private schools,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating a new Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School at Shivapura in Shiggaon taluk here on Tuesday,he said there are eight residential schools and colleges in Shiggaon and the education field had got its importance in the last 10-15 years. In this region,there are school buildings and special grants will be released to provide basic facilities.

The school management must give education that will build self-confidence in students who have come here to study by leaving home.

More funds for Education

The CM said two of his budgets have reserved 12 percent of the total budget size for education and no government in the past had reserved that much of grants.

Similarly,11 percent of the money has been earmarked for the health sector. For any community to come forward, education and health are important.

The inspiration of Swami Vivekananda must be available to students.In this background,9500 new classrooms are constructed this year under the Viveka Project as well as released funds for repair works.

Permission for new high school, PU colleges

Bommai said permission has been given to start a new high school and PU colleges the year, and also to spend Rs.180 crore on the construction of new classrooms for higher education classes.

Funds are reserved to upgrade polytechnic and engineering colleges.With this,his dream of having an engineering college is coming true.

There is a veterinary college,a textile training center, and two IITs.Equal importance has been given to technical education along with traditional education.

If kids develop knowledge,they start independent thinking. Independent thinking helps to lead a life with self-respect and self-reliance.
