C hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various activities in Madikeri and Virajpet Assembly constituencies worth Rs.539.86 crore.
Speaking on the occasion,he gave instructions to the officials concerned to give a free power supply of up to 10 HP for farmers’ IP Sets in the Kodagu district.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, tap connection has been given to 1,13,132 houses in the district. Through the Department of Backward Classes, the construction of 12 community halls for Rs.2.2 crore has started.
Similarly, Rs.10 crore has been released to the Kodagu Communities Federation.The government Land for the burial ground had been released in 343 villages in the district.
Already,seven acres of land had been given to the Federation at a nominal rate.In total,Rs.100 crore had been released for the development of roads in the Kodagu district.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the four-lane Mysuru-Kushalanagar Road.The government is striving for the uplift of all the communities by doling up several schemes and it has reached 30,000 to 50,000 families.

The agriculture loan at a zero percent interest rate has been hiked from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.Both domestic and international tourists visit the Kodagu district and the government is committing to giving all the facilities to them.
Since the Kodagu district is part of the Mysuru tourism circuit, more facilities will be given to the district”.
