According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Law Minister Malay Ghatak in connection with the coal smuggling case. His office assistant has also been called. However, it is not yet clear whether they will appear or not. The Minister told that he had not received any letter yet.Birbhum TMC president Anubrata Mondal was lodged in Tihar jail on Tuesday. Within hours of Kesta’s visit to Tihar, the ED summoned Malay Ghatak and his close aide through email. According to sources, malay’s close aide has been summoned to the ED headquarters in Delhi on Thursday, March 23. The law minister has been summoned to appear before it in Delhi on March 29, sources said.On the same day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee again protested the Centre’s deprivation. It is believed that there is political vendetta behind the summoning of the state minister on the same day. In September last year, the CBI had raided several houses of Malay Ghatak in Kolkata and Asansol.
