As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has relaxed rules regarding the setting up of a medical college in each district,the state government is opening the medical colleges in all the backward districts,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He told reporters at a helipad here on Monday that the medical colleges in Chikballapur,Haveri,Yadgir,and Chikmagalur are being developed.A medical college will be opened in Ramanagar also.
Dream of Shankar Nag fulfilled
The CM said noted Kannada actor,late Shankar Nag had dreamt of a ropeway to the Nandi Hills and now it is becoming reality.
The ropeway will help in the growth of tourism in this region.A temple adjacent to the Nandi Hills is also being developed.This will help in creating a tourism circuit.
He said people have got confidence in the schemes launched by the incumbent BJP Government and this has increased their confidence.
One round of discussion has been held with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the election manifesto for which Health and Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar is the chairman.This year also, it will be the people’s manifesto.
Intolerable
Bommai said the Congress Party has become intolerable to the quota hiked for SC/ST due to which it was opposing it.
The Congress must tell openly that they will oppose the community to which the reservation had been hiked.No injustice has been meted out to the Muslims as they have been included in the EWS category which has 10 percent reservation.
In the Constitution,there is no scope for religion-based reservation.So,the question of injustice to Muslims does not arise.
