Rajarajeshwarinagar Police have registered a FIR against Horticulture minister and RR. Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna for his reported hate speech against Christians in his constituency recently.
Mr.Munirathna speaking at an election campaign event and later to a private Kannada news channel,alleged there were “conversion activities in the slums”and called on people to“hit them and send them back”and he would look after them if there were any repercussions.
His statement had created a political storm with opposition accusing him of hate speech and provocation to violence.
Manoj Kumar,team lead of Election Flying Squad – 11 of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) lodged a complaint against the minister,based on which Rajarajeshwarinagar
Police have registered a case against him under various sections of Representation of People Act,1950 and under Section 153A of Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups.
