A 20-year-old pillion rider was killed while the rider sustained minor injuries when the scooter they are travelling collided with a motorcycle head on on Kanakapura road in KS Layout traffic police station limits on Sunday night .
The deceased has been identifies as Drushya,20 whille Abhishek,26,riding the scooter from Vasanthapura to Sarakki was being treated at the hospital .
Senior officer said the incident occurred at around 12.30 am when a motorcycle came from wrong side against one-way road and collided head on with the scooter near metro pillar number 111 and the HDFC bank on Kanakapura Road.
While Abhishek sustained a minor fracture to his right leg,Drushya complained stomachache as he fell.The accused identified as Deepak,took them both to a near-by hospital in an auto-rickshaw and fled the scene after dropping them, police said.
Doctors who examined Drushya declared him dead on arrival due to internal bleeding.
Drushya was a resident of Kanakapura Road and worked in law maintenance services.His friend, Abhishek,is a car driver living on Kanakapura Road.
The Police seized Deepak’s bike after finding it in a service centre near the accident.They identified it after matching a broken-off piece to the bike’s front number plate, they said.
An FIR has been filed against him under IPC sections 304 (a) (causing death by negligence),279 (rash and negligent driving),section 337 (causing hurt by act endangering the life or personal safety of others).
