Bengaluru:Man arrested for attacking Karaga bearer by splashing chemical during annual procession

The Halasurgate police have arrested a man for splashing chemical and chilli powder dipped flowers on the man carrying Karaga near Dharmaraya temple to disrupt the world famous event on Friday night.

 

Panic gripped among the devotees when A Jnanendra who carried the Sacred Kalasha complained itching after the man standing on side of the road splashed chemical and flowers dipped in flowers .

A team as Veer Kumar’s who were escorting Jnanendra soon pin down the accused and threw him away while continue to escort the Karaga to completion without any disruption.

However Jnanendra sustained burn marks on his body but out of danger.He later filed a complaint with the police against the accused identified as Adinarayana on Tuesday.

The police are now verifying the CCTV footage to probe further.

The issue according to the senior officers it is related to the dispute on person carrying Karaga and even reached High court.

President of the temple managing committee,K Satish also requested the police to probe the incident in detail and take legal action.
