Five Notorious Nigerian Drug Peddlers among Kingpin arrested Synthetic Drugs Worth Rs.8.5 Crore Seized By South Division Police

T he South Division police after a two month long covert operation cracked an inter state drug racket,arrested a gang of five Nigerian nationals including kingpin and recovered synthetic drugs worth Rs.8.5 crore .

Based on tip off on the drug peddling racket operating in the city for over the last five years,a team led by P. Krishnakant track down the accused and recovered, white and brown colored MDMA in Crystal form pink cocaine and brown sugar in wafer form.

The accused had come to city on student visa and overstayed illegally using contactless means of delivering drugs.

Elaborating on the Modus Operandi,Mr.Krisnakant said that the accused used at most precautions to avoid undue attention and used foreign numbers to communicate with the clients on only whatsapp and used online payment option.

The accused would then share the locations of drugs to the customers after confirming the payment is done.

A team of officials who got a tip off about the operations posing as customers kept in touch while another team track down their movements .

After two months of painstaking investigations,a team of VV Puram police managed to crack down on the accused and arrested Lawrence Ezenwoke alias Peter and Chukwunezim Thankgod Onyekachi alias Bright at Jayanagar when they had come to place the drugs in a park opposite the metro station, before sharing the location.

Meanwhile another team from Jayanagar police arrested Hasley and his associates Frank alias Sunday and Emmanuel Nazi from another locations and recovered the drugs from,them.

The accused have been booked under similar cases but continued to peddle drugs after coming out on bail and changing their residential address .

Probe revealed that they have sourced the drugs from their contacts outside the country through Goa and other ports which are being part of the investigations, Mr.Krishnakant, said.

The accused are not only supplying the drugs through their local network in the state but also transporting the drugs to even outside,he added .

The drug seizure which is one of the biggest in the state so far had a significance in the wake of upcoming elections.

Finally Karnataka DG-IGP Praveen Sood,has appreciated Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy,Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP South,P Krishnakant,ACP,KV Srinivas,PI,Manjunath,PSI,Ms.Kumari Rohini,ASI,Lakshmanachar,and whole crime staff who were part of Covert secret operation drive against drugs and with this they have successfully nabbed five including kingpin of drug racket has been arrested with this a biggest seizure has been recovered by them a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
