hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said he is a strong propagator of Dr B.R.Ambedkar and he feels proud about it.
Speaking at a felicitation program organized by SC community in Raichur on Sunday,he said a self-reliant life has become possible by giving reservation in education and employment thanks to the vision of Dr. Ambekar.
To ensure justice for this community, the government boldly decided to increase the reservation for them.
Vote bank
The CM sought to know why the previous government did not do it and whether were they making only making the speech on social justice without actually implementing it.
They used the SC community as their vote bank.The current population of the country is around 130 crore and after independence only only six communities were on the SC list but now it has crossed 100.
Though the community population had increased but not the reservation.Several castes were included in the SC list and the quota remained the same without any changes.
Dr.Ambedkar advocated giving reservations based on the population and it never happened.The Justice Nagmohan Das Commission upheld the Indira Sahani case and recommended the hike in the reservation for the SC/ST communities and the same was vouched by Justice Subhas Adi Commission.
Based on their recommendation,the government hiked the reservation.
Bommai said they must end the system of leading a life of slaves socially without education and employment. None can touch the reservation. Political awareness is required.
There are no rules that a person who is born poor must die as poor.They must be socially and economically empowered and help them to lead an independent life.
People are aware
He said the backward class community is vigilant and they must vote only for those who value their fight, respect their feelings,respond to their pains,act as a voice for them,and give safety and security to them.
An awareness must be created about their right to development,education,and employment and their drama will not go on for long.
Changes have taken place and they must vote for those who stand by them in times of difficulty.Of late,youths have become vigilant.
The decision which has been made out of the political will must be taken use and this must be informed to every house to do a social revolution.
