In a suspected case of honour killing,a 28-year-old newly married marketing executive was hacked to death by his brother-in-law and friends near BGS School in outskirts in the broad day light of Tuesday afternoon.
While Ashwath was killed on the spot,his wife Sahana, sister of the accused Bharath was also sustained injuries after the accused attacked her with chopper while she was riding motorcycle with her husband.
The deceased along with his parents and friends had gone to a family program and returning on the bike while others were moving ahead with other bikes.
Suddenly the accused Bharath along with his associates confronted Ashwanth and before he could realize the attacked him with chopper.As a result Ashwath and Sahana fell from the bike.
The accused pounced on Ashwath stabbing him weith knives multiple times and even crushed his head with a stone.Ashwath died on the spot while sahana sustained injuries on her hands was crying out for help.
Meanwhile,Ashwath’s friends,Chiranjeevi,Sandeep, Sashishekhar reached the spot and tried to intervene.
But Bharath and his associates charged towards them, following which they ran helterskelter.The accused soon left the spot on thier bikes with the swords they carried while throwing the knives they used to stab Ashwath.
Nagaraju,father of Ashwath who was riding motorcycle with wife Sudha returned hearing the commotion and noticed his son was found dead in a pool of blood while Sahana was with multiple injuries writhing in pain.
The police reached the spot and shifted the injuries and the body for the post-mortem and initiated investigations to track down the accused .
The police have detained few and efforts are on to arrest the accused who are said to be absconding, a police officer, said .
Nagaraju,a farmer from KG Hosahalli village told the police that his son Ashwath had an affair with Sahana , who is a distant relative .
However the family was opposing the relationship following which Ashwath and sahana eloped and got married in Dharmasthala in February 17 this tear and returned home.
The family was since then furious and warned the couple with dire consequences to avenge their humiliation .
