Cylinder explosion caused leakage house collapsed and man injured in Bengaluru

A 45-year-old man injured and the house he was living collapsed in an explosion caused due to LPG cylinder leakage in Bhadrappa layout in Kodigehalli in the early hours of Monday.

The injured has been identified as Vinod Rathod, residing in the ground floor of a multi-storey residential building in Badrappa Layout .

Senior officer told reporters a preliminary investigation police said that Rathod tried to light the LPG gas stove to prepare tea around 7 am.

The gas had leaked from the cylinder and due to the leakage soon after he lit the stove the gas exploded.

Rathod has sustained around 25 per cent burn injuries on his hands and legs. Due to the impact of the fire ball blast in the air the wall of the house collapsed.

The residents called the Fire and Emergency officials who rushed to the spot with a water tanker and doused the fire.

Rathod was rescued from under the debris and was rushed to the burns ward at Victoria hospital.

The Kodigehalli police have taken up the case of fire accident from the building owner and are investigating.

Rathod works as mason of tiles work was alone at home as his wife and four children had gone to their native on Sunday.
