A 34-year-old engineer complained to Whitefield cyber crime station on Friday that he has been lured by conman promising part time job online and made away with his saving worth Rs.12,35,000.
Within an hour and half,Pooja Shetty,a 29-year-old private firm employee walked into the station with similar complaint seeking help to get back Rs.3 lakh which she was asked to transfer to the conman’s account.
The police who are now trying to track down the accused said that more and more educated people are falling for the trap despite having awareness about such cyber frauds.
In the first case,Pawan Kumar Jalwadi,resident of Doddanekkundi he was approached by Shristi Yadav on social media and offered part time job with exciting offer.
She also told him about online trading and few task to complete following which the money will be doubled within hours.
Pawan followed her instructions initially and got a good returns for his investment.Little did he know that was a trap laid to lure him to invest more.
As Pawan Kumar invested a total of Rs.12.3 lakh in different stages and exhausted his saving,Shristi Yadav went incommmunicado .
Realizing that he has been cheated Pawan rushed to police station and filed a complaint seeking police help to get back his money.
The police are trying to track down the trail of money and working out to block the fund transfer at different stages.
One-and-half hours later Pooja Shetty,29,from KR Puram walked into the station claiming that she has been cheated by cyber frauds promising part time job and lured her to invest Rs.3 lakh for a quick return after completion of tasks.
The accused escaped as soon as she transferred the funds.
