he city police gave a shock in the early morning to history sheeters and carried surprise checks on the houses of 500 rowdies and habitual offenders living in south and western parts of the city in the wee hours of Thursday.
Senior officer told reporters,More than 1500 policemen participated in the surprise checks which was carried under prevention action and area domination.
During raids the officers arrested around 20 rowdies who was wanted in many cases and are on the run jumping bail condition.
The police also recovered lethal weapons from their house and one of the notorious chain snatcher identified as Imran Pasha from Kalasipalya wanted in several criminal cases was also arrested during surprise checks .
The others who are detained and bundled to the station were later released on station bail with a warning not to involved in any anti social activities during election.
Four of the rowdy-sheeters have already been sent out under Tadipaar or extradition and records of three more rowdies are being prepared to send them out of the city under Tadipaar,soon,said a officer who monitored the surprise checks.
