he Lokayukta officials on Wednesday trapped and arrested Assistant Engineer of BESCOM red handed at his office while accepting a bribe from an electrical contractor for an official favour.
The accused had demanded Rs.30,000 from Electrical contractor G Gangadharaiah to approve electric connection to a newly constructed residential building .
Unable to pay the bribe , Gangadharaiah approached the Lokayukta and filed a complaint.
Based on a complaint a team trapped lokesh red handed while accepting bribe at his office .
The officials searched his office to find Rs.24,000 unaccounted money and Rs. 2.7 lakh cash from the car belonging to him.
The accused officer Rajesh TC working in Kothanur officer has been booked under prevention of Corruption Act and taken into custody for further investigations.
