he Girinagar police busted inter state red sander racket and caught a 35-year-old labourer who was trying to sell 124 kilograms of logs to his clients on Wednesday.
The accused Krishna,resident of Banashankari third stage was caught from Vidyagiri Bus stand while he was waiting for his clients to deliver the consignment.
Based on the tip off,a team of police led by Sandeep Kumar pin down Krishna and later raided a godown in Saptagiri Layout where the timber was stored for ready to be delivered .
Initial probe revealed that the accused part of the inter state timber smuggling gang worked as local logistic provider .
The accused responsibility is to receive the consignment from his contacts based on the requirement and sell it to his contacts .
The police are now trying to track down his gang members who are based in the neighbouring state said a senior officer.
