Karnataka’s shadow in Madhya Pradesh- many BJP leaders joined Congress ahead of pollsin Madhya Pradesh

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:Ahead of the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, the ruling BJP in the state is in deep trouble. One leader after another is leaving the saffron party and joining the Congress. It can be said that Karnataka (Karnataka) is repeating itself in Madhya Pradesh. Even in the southern state, bjp leaders defected from the camp and joined the Congress ahead of the assembly elections.Among them were several heavyweight leaders, including the former chief minister. It was the result of factionalism in the State BJP (BJP). In Karnataka too, factionalism in the saffron party is on the rise in the run-up to the polls.Hemant Laria, brother of three-time BJP MLA from Narwali Pradeep Laria, on Sunday quit the BJP and joined the Congress. He was inducted into the party by State Congress President Kamal Nath at the state Congress office. He was handed over the party’s primary membership. Along with Hemant, hundreds of his followers and supporters have joined the Congress.Taking a dig at the BJP, Hemant said, “There is a government of lies and loot in Madhya Pradesh under the BJP rule. The people of the entire state are fed up with rice prices, unemployment and corruption. The government is running on money and muscle power. The ruling party is misusing the police and administration for political gains. With hanumanji’s blessings, Kamal Nath will throw out this corrupt BJP government.”According to sources, Hemant Laria had sought a ticket from Makroniya in Lariwali district for the civic polls in the state. But after this was confirmed, he became angry with the state BJP leaders. However, it is not just Lariya’s family who have defected from the saffron party and joined the Congress. Factionalism ahead of the elections has worried the BJP.The primary concern for the party is the strained relationship between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP state president V D Sharma. According to sources, at the BJP meeting in Bhopal, top central leaders had said that the party would face serious consequences if the state’s top leadership did not resolve differences among themselves and work together as a single unit. In this context, they cited the example of the party’s recent debacle in Karnataka.
