Minutes after taking over as head of the state police force,Dr Alok Mohan on Monday said that his priority is to attend each and every complaint he received at the police station level and reiterated that he will take zero tolerance approach against the police personnel for not attending the complaints at the station level.
Addressing the media,Mr.Alok Mohan said that his priority as the head of the state will be maintaining law and order and zero tolerance against any peace disturbance in the society and focus will be on organized crime and cyber crime investigations.
Mr.Alok Mohan reiterated that he is committed to provide clean and good administration.The state police is adjudged as best in the country and proved again in the assembly election with no violations.
The status has to be maintained and the zero tolerance approach is also applicable to the erring police officials.
He said that the focus will be on crime investigations and detections of crime against women and children, cyber crimes and white color crimes.
Fight against drug abuse is also another area of concern and crack down on cases related to Narcotics are on.
Traffic management is also at the priority list and there should be a focus on traffic management than enforcement,he said.
The traffic police should be more focused on traffic management and reduce vehicle checks.There should be more fine tuning on this,he said.
Giving important to human rights and etiquettes,Mr. Alok Mohan said that there is a need of upgrading the skills among the police personnel in terms of human rights,etiquette while interacting with the members of general public.
There is also a need for the police personnel to upgrade their technical skills and physical and mental endurance to meet the challenges .
Hinting that the rise in cyber crime cases,he said though efforts are on tackling cyber crime is not up to the mark.
Strengthening the existing stations and the staff to tackle cyber crime cases are on the priority list.In addition to this the department will also open new cyber crime police stations at the jurisdictional level to investigate and contain them effectively.
“I am committed to reward good officers and punish the bad one”he said warning the police personnel to strive hard to maintain the standards.
Earlier outgoing Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood,handed over the baton customarily to handover the charges.
Mr.Alok Mohan will have additional charges as head of the state along with the present portfolios until further orders.
