34-year-old woman was trampled to death by wild elephant near Hakki Pakki colony in Bannerghatta on Saturday.
The deceased Nagamma was on her way to give lunch to her brother,working in forest department,when she confronted the elephant.
Before she could react the pachyderm the wild elephant attacked and trampled her to death.
Hearing the commotion her brother came to the spot and saw furious elephant and Nagamma was on the ground motionless .
He alerted the police and the forest department officials.The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post mortem.A case of un-natural death has been registered for further investigations.
The police have alerted the forest department to take precautionary measures to prevent further casualties and making announcements in areas bordering forest alerting people to be careful and not to venture inside the forest area.
