State Minister Tanniru Harish Rao responded on Twitter to celebrate ‘Oorura Cheruvula Festival’. A video was posted mentioning the restoration of the ponds.

Hyderabad: The state government is grandly organizing the Telangana decade celebrations. Prajopayoga programs are being carried out along with explaining the progress of ten years of Telangana to the people. Various programs are being carried out for 20 days from June 2 Telangana Avatarana Day. As part of that, ‘Oorura Ponds Festival’ is being organized today (June 8). Cultural programs involving drums, bonals and batukammas will be undertaken. Songs written by other poets on the ponds, including pond songs by Gorati Venkanna, are heard. It is celebrated with processions of fishermen’s nets. Meetings are held on the embankments of the pond. The leaders and the people will have a communal meal together on the embankment of the pond.

It is being implemented all over the country as Amrit Sarovar.. Telangana is practicing. “The country will follow,” he posted a video on Twitter referring to the revival of the ponds.
