The Lokayukta officials on Thursday trapped N Narasimamurthy,Panchayath Development Officer of Agalakuppe gram Panchayath in Nelamangala while accepting a bribe of Rs.2 lakh for an official favour.
The accused has demanded Rs.6 lakh from Shivanna, resident of Vijayanagar,Bengaluru for the Khata transfer and demanded an adcance of Rs.2 lakh.
Unable to pay the bribe,Shivanna approached Lokayukta and filed a complaint.Based on the complaint,a team of police laid a trap and arrested Narasimhamurthy red handed while he was accepting the advance amount.
He was booked under Prevention of corruption act and the officials taken him into custody to search his residence to ascertain if he has any disproportionate assets.
