The Seshadripuram police on tuesday booked former Managing Director of state Handloom Development Corporation for supplying sub standard material for the uniforms of the school children under state government Vidya Vikas project in 2021-2022.
The accused Muddaiah S,worked as MD at Hubballi and his associates Shridhar BG and Lakshman B have been booked under cheating and criminal breach of trust.
Senior officer said,the textile commission gave work order to supply 1,34,05,729 meters of cloths to provide two pairs of uniforms for the primary and high school children across the state .
The accused had supplied the sub standard material following which an inquiry was initiated and found dereliction of duty on his part .
Apart from this Muddaiah while he was working as Manager called short term tender to give seven industrial sheds to the general public for rent for 22 years situated at 2.3 acres in Priyadarshini processing centre situated at Peenya 2nd stage .
The commission found that Muddaiah had misused his power and found dereliction of duty .
The police have initiated investigations into this and asked the complainant,Sridhar Nayak B,Gezette Assistant to provide more documents to further investigation.
