Five among Marketting executive, private firm employee,fall prey to part-time job scam,lose over 35 lakhs

A 24-year-old marketing executive,private firm employee are among the four people have been lured into part time job racket and lost over Rs.35 lakh.

The central division cyber crime police have taken up the case and are investigating.The victim Afreen Taj,a marketing executive for a private firm and resident in Palace Guttahalli in her complaint said that she received a whatsapp message from an unknown number offering part time job.

She was offered to complete task after a deposit of Rs. 100.Within minutes she completed the tasks and received Rs.130 .

The next day Ms.Afreen was asked to deposit Rs.5,000 and complete the tasks.After the job she received Rs. 6,500 .

Minutes later a person identified herself as Shalini called her to deposit bigger amount to get quick returns.

Excited by the offer Ms.Afreen borrowed money from her mother and friend and deposited a total of Rs.15.2 lakh.But to her shock the accused escaped with the money and not reachable since then.

Similarly Abdul Samad,27,a private firm employee from Wilson Garden,lost Rs.14.18 lakh when he was lured with the bigger deposits to withdraw the amount he had earned .

Sathisha KV,50,from Begur also complained that he was offered part time job offer and asked to deposit bigger amount to get good returns.

Mr.Sathisha borrowed money from his friends and transferred the amount only to realize that he has been cheated .

Ajay Jhuke,28-year-old from Sudhama Nagar and looking for the job was also cheated and lost Rs.2.3 lakh.

The police suspect that there is a gang operating and luring gullible people by sending messages on random numbers and trap people who respond.

Initially the accused share the money with smaller amount against the deposits.

But this is a trap and many people fall for this despite knowing that this could be a scam,a senior police officer probing the matter, said .

The police requested members of general public not to entertain unknown numbers and report any suspicious activities to police control room 112 without delay .
