Son killed father over trivial row in Bengaluru

The Magadi road police have booked a 26-year-old man who bludgeoned his father to death over over domestic row at his house in the early hours of Thursday.

The accused Chethan,26,a house-keeping staff at a private firm was living with his parents Gangaraju,50, Sarojamma,and younger brother Kiran.

Senior officer told reporters Gangaraju,was a wall painter by profession and irregular to work and alcoholic.He used to come home drunk and fight with the family and abuse his wife verbally .

Chethan used to warn him to stay away from alcohol and the duo used to have war of words over this issue .

On Wednesday night,the duo had a fight over similar issue till late in the night.After the fight Gangaraju went out of the house to sleep,furious Chethan in a fit of rage in the early hours of Thursday,crushed him on Gangaraju while he was sleeping .

Meanwhile,Mumtaz,52,neighbour who got to to perform her daily prayers saw Chethan crushing his father to death and came out in shock .

Chethan tried to create an alibi saying someone had killed his father and he was helping him out.However Mumtaz told him he saw him crushing with the boulder and asked him to call the police.

By then the other members of the family came out and shocked to see their father lying dead in a pool of blood.

Mumtaz even asked him to call the police but he delayed and later carried the body in an autorikshaw to the hospital and brought back one hour later.

In her complaint Mumtaz said that Gangaraj being alcoholic used to harass his family and fight with them everyday.Unable to bear the harassment Chethan might have carried the murder, she told the police.
