Command Hospital Air Force Bengaluru Celebrates Continuing Medical Education (CME) ‘Silence To Sound’

C ommand Hospital Air Force Bangalore (CHAFB) reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of 200 cochlear implant surgeries.

The Department of Ear, Nose,Throat-Head and Neck Surgery (ENT-HNS) hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session titled “Silence to Sound” to celebrate this achievement on 23 June 2023.

The day commenced with a pre-CME counselling session for cochlear implantees a and their parents, focusing on implant care.

The Chief Guest,Air Vice Marshal Sadhana Nair Principal Medical Officer (PMO) HQ Training Command, IAF, lauded the ENT-HNS Department’s efforts and the positive impact of cochlear implant surgery.

Air Vice Marshal S Shankar Commandant CHAFB, opened the session by acknowledging the hospital’s accomplishments in cochlear implantation.

One of Cochlear implant recipient showcased her dance,embodying the transformative power of the implants.

The College of Nursing Cadets shared insights into nursing care and support,followed by a lecture titled “Journey from Silence to Sound” by a Cochlear Implant Surgeon, which highlighted the life-changing experiences of the recipients.

The session also included the release of informative pamphlets and a prize distribution for poster presentations.

The event at Command Hospital Bangalore exemplified its commitment to improving the lives of the hearing-impaired and affirmed its leadership role in cochlear implantation.
