Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:Three persons were arrested with 10 kgs of marijuana worth more than lakh of rupees on Saturday.The Special Branch of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate said “ we had received reliable information that a few people were coming to Bandel road with marijuana. We formed a team and laid a trap accordingly.According to police, the trio hired a taxi from Howrah station. They told the taxi driver that they would first go to Sealdah and then to Bandel station in Hooghly. After the arrival of the Bandel, the car was also said to be taken to JiratBalagarh. The crime branch then stopped the vehicle near the Keota checkpoint in The Bandel and recovered 10 kgs of Ganja. Its market value is estimated to be several lakhs of rupees. According to sources, the driver of the car has been identified as Purushottam Jha. The Special Branch of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate has arrested three persons, identified as Sagar Tamang, who was in the car and ganja.
