Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:A 45-year-old Youth Trinamool Congress leader, Aritra Ghosh alias Bumba, was shot at and then beaten up by around six armed men at Ariadaha near Dakshineswar 1.30pm on Thursday. One of the bullets grazed his right leg. No one has been arrested yet.The shootout happenesin Dakshineswar area. Some miscreants allegedly opened fire at the Youth Trinamool leader. The bullet missed the target. However, the youth fell off the bike. He was then allegedly thrown on the road and beaten up. He was admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries. The incident has created a stir in the Ariyadah area. According to eyewitnesses, Aritra was riding a bike on Thursday afternoon. He was allegedly shot at. The bullet missed the target but Aritra fell off the bike. That’s when he was beaten. Aritra’s hands and legs were broken by an iron rod. Aritra was rushed to a nursing home near Rathtala with serious injuries. There was a lot of bleeding, doctors said.Jayant Singh, another TMC leader from Tir area, has been accused of the allegations. It was his gang that allegedly attacked Aritra. Lying in the hospital, Aritra said his name. Aritra-Jayanta’s relationship was not very good, which is why he was being attacked, the TMC youth leader alleged. However, his condition is very worrisome at the moment, according to nursing home sources. No arrests have been made in the case so far.TMC MLA Madan Mitra blamed the police administration for the youth leader’s bullet injuries. “The attackers, all the victims, are grassroots.
