early one month after Gurijala Arpith,29,was on the run after strangulating his 23-year-old girl friend to death in a flat she was living in JB Nagar in the first week of June,the police tracked him down in Whitefield on Tuesday.
The accused Arpith had strangled Akanksha to death and smothered her with a pillow to confirm her death .
He even made a futile attempt to make it look like a case of suicide by tried to lift the body and hang it with a veil from the ceiling fan.However unable to execute the plan,he dumped the body and escaped .
The police who obtained his ID card,phone from the scene of crime,tried to track him down to Delhi where he boarded the train with Rs.5,000 which he had .
However on the way Arpith got down in Bhopal and went to Assam where he worked with a roadside vendors and earned a daily wage of Rs.150 to lead his life.
The accused even tried to contact his friends to seek financial help, but he could not as he had stopped using debit card and mobile phones fearing that he will be track down.
The police had kept a tab on his family,work place and friend circle to track him down.
After the police got to know his location and went to Assam the accused had returned to Vijayawada from there he came to white field to meet his friend to get some money.
Arpith confessed to the police that Akanksha was in relationship till they worked in Hyderabad and after she relocated to Bengaluru she had got into another relationship .
Arpith who got to know about this came to clarify with Akanksha where she was staying in a flat on sharing basis .
Akanksha reportedly refused to marry Arpith and asked him for break up. Enraged by this Arpith killed her and escaped .
The accused has been taken into custody for further investigations.
