Engineering student ended life due to loan app in yelahanka
A 22-ywear-old engineering student ended his life at his house in HMT Layout Jalahalli on Tuesday evening due to alleged harassment from loan app.
The deceased Tejas Nayar,6th sem student engineering reportedly borrowed 46,000 from a loan app and could not repay.
Due to which the company executive allegedly harassed and tortured him to recover the loan.Unable to bear the harassment,Tejash ended his life leaving behind a suicide note addressing to his parents.
The death note reportedly written by him,apologized to his parents.The note mentioned that he is unable to repay and have no other choice but to take the extreme decision
In his complaint,Gopinath PS,father of the deceased said that he Tejash was using the loan apps for the last one and half years and borrowed the money.
Gopinath said that he came to know about this 20 days ago and also helped him with some money to repay EMI.Since then he was in depression and not talking to anyone.
On Tuesday,Tejash was at home since there was no class till evening.Gopinath went to drop his daughter to tuition and after visiting Jalahalli cross for some work, returned home to found the door was locked.
After repeated attempts to open the door failed,he peeped through the ventilator to find him hanging to the ceiling.
With the help of neighbours,the door was broke open and he was rushed to hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Based on the complaint the police have taken up a case under section 174 ( enquiry and report on suicide ) for further investigations.
